Tom's Creek Falls is in McDowell County just north of the city of Marion. This trail and waterfall is not off a major highway. You need to drive north on US221 until you arrive at Huskins Branch Rd. There is an old motel called the Woodlawn Motel that's a good landmark. Turn left on Huskins Branch Rd. and drive about a mile until you get to a parking area right before a small bridge. You will see the trail entrance.

Tom's Creek Falls are about 60' high and very beautiful. The hike to the falls is relatively easy and flat. The trail extends past the falls and gets steep and narrow. If you can, cross over the creek at the base of the falls and explore the entrance to an old mine. See the photos on the right.

Hiking Difficulty Level: Easy to the base of the falls. It then turns to Moderate to Somewhat Difficult past the falls.
